Up and breakfast is down. I'v showered and Sarah is showering. Sarah was up around 5:30 to catch the sunrise, I know this because she jumped back into bed at around 6:20 and she was a walking ice block. So cold. Apparently the temperature was in the single numbers.
It's now hot and sticky, we are off hang gliding / swinging through the trees.
10:30
Epic day of flying in the tree tops and purple. It started with a drive to town (Launceston) we went for a wonder and found some glasses for Sarah (Oakley's, very nice). Then we had a coffee at Gloria Jeans as we waited for our timeslot at Hollybank Treetop adventures. This is the place where you fly through the trees on a flying fox.
On getting there we realised it's a 3 hour tour and there are no toilets, no food breaks, nothing. So we had a banana, we went to the toilet and got all geared up. 20 minutes of safety checking and stuffing around and we headed out for an epic adventure. Ow no, I shouldn't have had that coffee before I went, Sarah leans to me and says "I shouldn't have had that tea at Gloria Jeans"... anyway we pressed on. Flying high within a group of 10 people and we all had great fun, there was not much of a drop and the flying seemed more like sliding, very controlled. I wanted crazy heart thumping drops, but there was only epic highs, scary for some people that's for sure, just not for me and Sarah.
Once finished there was a rush to the toilets and a shocking surprise at how much the video's and pictures where. They would not let me take my camera for the following reason "Due to safety reasons you can't take your camera, but don't worry, at the end you will be able to purchase the pictures taken by the guides"... too bad cow.
16:39
Off to the lavender farm for some spectacular view. Amazing purples and fields of happiness. We got there starving and we rushed to the café thinking that it will close. Nope they close late, but the lunch menu has finished and all that was left was lavender scones and coffee. Lavender scones and coffee it is. I took loads of videos and Sarah took thousands of pictures. We walked the whole farm as they don't close until sundown. We had a great time just walking around, there was this huge tree that dwarf anything near it, including tractors. We came out of the farm feeling happier than the treetops flying, we think its because we could do whatever we wanted. We enjoying it so much more. The smells, the colours, the freedom. What a fantastic adventure.
19:20
Dinner at 'Chopsui' again as they make the best noodles ever! Pad Thai again for me and Mamaka Mee for Sarah. Now we sit back and watch (feel) the cold roll into the night.
20:22
Organise and copy movies/pictures of the day.
